The rules for using car.al as a traveller or supplier.

The role of car.al

car.al provides an online marketplace where travellers can search for and book vehicles offered by approved rental suppliers. The supplier shown in the confirmed booking is responsible for preparing and providing the vehicle and completing the physical handover.

By using the website, creating an account or making a booking, you agree to these terms and to the booking-specific conditions shown before payment.

Bookings and payments

A booking is created using the dates, location, vehicle category, extras and traveller details submitted at checkout. The confirmation and booking reference identify the agreed reservation.

  • Prices and the amount due are shown before the booking is submitted.
  • Payment timing and any amount payable at pickup are stated in the booking flow.
  • Payments processed online are handled through the configured payment provider.
  • A booking is subject to availability and may require additional verification where fraud or incorrect information is suspected.

Traveller responsibilities

The lead driver must provide accurate information and meet the age, licence, identity and payment-card requirements shown for the rental. The traveller is responsible for arriving at the agreed place and time with the required documents.

The vehicle must be used lawfully and in accordance with the confirmed rental conditions and the supplier’s handover agreement. Fines, damage, fuel, late return and other post-rental charges are handled according to those disclosed conditions and applicable law.

Changes, cancellations and refunds

The cancellation terms displayed during booking apply to that reservation. Eligibility for a refund depends on those terms, the time of cancellation and the payment already collected.

A request to change dates, location or vehicle is not confirmed until car.al or the responsible supplier confirms the revised booking. A change may affect availability and price.

Supplier responsibilities

Suppliers must maintain accurate company, fleet, pricing, availability and location information. They are responsible for providing a roadworthy and properly documented vehicle that matches the confirmed category or an accepted replacement.

Suppliers must honour confirmed bookings, follow marketplace operating requirements and communicate material issues that could affect fulfilment.

Accounts and acceptable use

You must keep account credentials secure and must not misuse the platform, interfere with its operation, submit false information, attempt unauthorised access, scrape protected data or use the service for unlawful activity.

We may restrict or suspend access where necessary to protect users, suppliers, payments or the integrity of the marketplace.

Service availability, liability and changes

We work to keep marketplace information and services available and accurate, but interruptions and errors can occur. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, car.al is not responsible for indirect losses or events outside reasonable control.

We may update these terms as the platform, commercial model or applicable requirements change. The version published when a booking is made does not replace the booking-specific terms already confirmed for that reservation.

Questions and disputes

If something is wrong with a booking, contact us promptly through the support form and include the booking reference. Giving the support team the relevant facts early is usually the fastest route to a resolution.
