We collect information needed to operate the marketplace, process bookings and provide support. Depending on how you use car.al, this may include:
- identity and contact details such as name, email address and phone number;
- booking details such as dates, locations, selected vehicle category, extras and booking reference;
- driver information required for a rental, where applicable;
- account and supplier-application information;
- messages sent through contact and support forms; and
- technical information such as IP address, browser data, security events and basic usage analytics.
Payment card details are handled by the configured payment provider. car.al does not store full card numbers.
How we use information
We use personal information to create and administer bookings, communicate confirmations and changes, prevent fraud, provide customer support, operate supplier accounts, improve the service and meet legal or accounting obligations.
We only use information for a compatible purpose and limit access to people and systems that need it to perform that purpose.
When information is shared
Booking information is shared with the rental supplier responsible for fulfilling the confirmed rental. We may also share necessary information with payment, email, hosting, analytics and security providers that process data on our behalf.
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the platform, or as part of a corporate transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.

We keep information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including booking support, financial records, dispute handling, fraud prevention and legal compliance. Retention periods vary by record type and applicable obligations.
